What a waiver claim really costs
A bid calculator from the same model the app uses, and the real numbers: what every player went for, week by week, as a share of budget across every Sleeper league linked to Gameday GM.
Price a claim
Tiers: Low: a bench body, a bye-week fill. Medium: a flex-worthy role or a handcuff that matters. High: a starter-grade role this week. Breakout: the injury replacement everybody wants.
Fill in where your budget stands and the model prices the claim from its cross-league prior: the bid at which 40%, 60% and 80% of auctions clear. In the app the prior is replaced by your league’s own history.

How to read the tables
- FAAB
- Free-agent acquisition budget: the season’s blind-auction dollars a league gives every manager for waiver claims, usually $100 or $1,000. The highest bid wins the player; only the winner pays.
- Winning bid, as a share of budget
- Every figure here is a percent of that league’s own budget, so a $23 bid in a $100 league and a $230 bid in a $1,000 league read the same. No dollar amount or budget is published.
- Leagues
- How many distinct leagues won the player that week. A player is published only once five or more did, so no single league’s bid can be read back out of the numbers.
- Median
- The middle winning bid across those leagues: half paid more, half paid less.
- Middle half
- The 25th to 75th percentile of winning bids: where the typical league landed, with the cheapest and the wildest quarter left out.
- Top bid
- The largest winning bid in any league, as a share of that league’s budget.
- Median wins
- The share of those leagues a bid at the median would have won. A tie wins.
- $0
- The share of leagues where he went for nothing: nobody else bid, or the one claim was for $0.
- Overpay index
- The top winning bid divided by the median: how far the most eager league went past the typical one. 1× is a market that agrees; 3× is one league paying triple.
- Tier
- How the bid model classifies a claim before pricing it, from the demand for the player, how many rivals need him and what he adds over the replacement: low, medium, high or breakout.
Your league’s number, not the average
The calculator above prices a generic league. In the app the same model reads your league’s own winning bids, your budget and your rivals’ needs, and tells you what to bid and the odds at that price. Seven days free, no card.
